Knowing what you want out of life allows you to be more focused. It helps you get there much more easily and quickly than if you don't see how it all fits together.
8 Steps for Creating Your Life Plan
Life is unpredictable, and we may get too busy and lost in the everyday routine. It is important to identify what we want the most and then use simple steps to get there.
Planning our lives can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be difficult if we break it down into steps. The key thing in creating your own destiny is forming an action plan and ensuring you are doing something every day.
Create a life vision It is essential to have a clear idea of your life, which is the first step in planning out the life plan. And I encourage you to DREAM BIG without any limitation! And it's also vital that you know your strength and talent in order to focus on them. If you have an old wound, resolve it so that doesn't affect your future.
Prioritise your life It's easy to get caught up in many different projects, what other people want you to do. But, if you take time to think about what matters most to you, it will help you prioritise your life and make your goals a reality. Also, it is essential to give yourself permission to say NO to the less important things to free up time for things that matter more. This can help you be more efficient and stay focused on your long term goals.
Perform a self-assessment We have various areas of life that need to assess every so often, such as relationships, physical health, financial health, mental health, spiritual well-being. Dive in each area to rate your satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10 (Be honest with yourself). This is an excellent opportunity for self-reflection. It also can give you a better picture of what areas need attention. I took a Gallup Strength test in the early day while I first started my business, the result was mind-blowing. It allows me to understand my behaviour, thoughts patterns and much more. Now I recommend every client do an assessment. Understanding your strengths and weaknesses will enable you to decide where to focus your energy— "How can I master and utilise my strength?" "How can I use my strength to help the weaknesses, or shall I hire someone good at it to teach me, do it for me?" Taking time to reflect on your personal qualities and habits can help you fast track your success and reach your goal.
How to identify your values Values are the core definition of yourself. Although people are all unique, values make you who you are. Values can be your reference point for any decision you make, your standard and encompass your core beliefs that guide your actions and behaviours. There are many different ways to identify your values. Some people may not even know what their values are until they take the time to assess themselves. Also, think of the value that "future you" holds. Are they aligned with you now? What's the difference?
Establish goals Setting meaningful goals is the key to achieving success in any area of life. Goals motivate us to take action, move forward, and strive for excellence. They also allow us to measure our progress, which provides a sense of accomplishment. Think of the big goals you want to accomplish (You can dream big and add some creative juice to it) for each role and aspect of your life. You will want to set yourself up for success, so ensure they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely.
Eliminate Obstacles Everything in life can be a challenge in one eye. Challenges, in fact, can be seen as an obstacle or a gift. Obstacles are almost unavoidable in life journey. If not handled well, that can hold us back from achieving our goals. The more you focus on obstacles, the more it will hold you back from achieving your goals. Shifting the mindset from being fear of obstacle to embracing it. That can be an opportunity for us to learn and grow. And the mindset you hold towards setbacks determines if you let them get in the way or use that as an opportunity. Stay positive when receiving challenges is one way to tackle obstacles, find the learning you need to obtain from it and reach out for help if you need it.
Create a Support Structure It is essential to know your support structure. You might heard of "You are the average 5 people that you spend time with " support structure is far more than that. Support is what you need when life hands you lemons. Having a healthy support structure is essential. Someone can help you see clearly, give you good advice, keep you accountable. I have different coaches and mentors by my side and support my life journey in different stages. Support can also come from family, friends, colleagues, or even complete strangers. It's important to know who you can turn to in times of need because proximity is power.
Outline an action plan Defining the end goal is the most important aspect of setting up an action plan. Once you have defined your end goal, you should take a moment to think about what steps need to be taken for you to get there. Reverse-engineering your goal will help you identify which actions need to be taken. Monitoring and evaluating your progress towards achieving your goals is pivotal for any successful business or personal goal. Regularly updating and tracking your process will help you stay on track and ensure that you are going down the right path.
